Description
Overview
Alfine swabs intended for the collection and transport of microbiological samples are considered invasive medical devices for temporary use.
As the two main components of a transport swab have different purposes and different ways of interaction with the patient.
Tube with transport media is the container facilitator of survival and transport of biological samples prior to analysis. Dry swabs without transport media is for microbiological sample collection.

Features and Usage
All swabs have the round, compact and shred resistant head for a proper sampling avoid fiber loose.
The components of transport media swabs
1)Tube including the media: Made of rigid polypropylene with round bottom.
2)Polyethylene cap specially designed to close hermetically; non slippery surface when using gloves.
3)Coloured label is printed in each tube with detailed parameters. The label seals the cap and the tube.
Swab fitted in a second cap with a shaft which ends in a tip of synthetic or organic material hardly adhered to the shaft. The cap provides a leakproof seal after sample collection.
Dry swabs are without medium and supplied in shockproof round bottom polyethylene or polypropylene tube, also with a label sealing the cap. They are sterilized by ethylene oxide.
Note: For single use, it should be sent for inspection as soon as possible after sampling, and transported at 2-8 ℃ immediately. The collected samples can be stored at 2-8 ℃ for a short time for 48 hours; For long-term storage, it should be stored at a low temperature below-20℃, -70℃ or -196℃.
Virus sampling swabs, disposable. These flocking swabs adopt a unique spray type nylon villus implantation technology, which has outstanding sample collection and release capacity. The release rate can reach 90%, which is much higher than that of fiber swabs. Unique breakable design, no tiny debris is produced in the process of fracture.
The nylon fibers are vertically and evenly attached to the surface of the swab head, which can greatly enhance the collection and release efficiency of cell and virus samples, increase analysis sensitivity without specimen residual, and accelerate the process of specimen processing.
The ABS or PP stick is designed available to be broken, and suitable for collecting samples from the cervix, nasopharynx, oral throat and forensic medicine, and samples of viruses, DNA, etc.

The vertical nylon fibers can collect more specimens. Due to the capillary action between nylon fibers, the aqueous samples have a larger capacity.
The samples that concentrated on the surface of the swab can be eluted easily.
The increasing number of target cells can help to improve the sensitivity of quick diagnostic tests.
Flocking swabs have obvious advantages in nasopharygeal sampling, microbial sampling, especially in collection of virus and DNA.
